Final Renderings of my thesis collection ;)

Finally The year is over and graduating from Parson’s is starting to make me feel a little bit static…I was lucky enough to get to collaborate with some amazing designers this year and I want to say Thank You to everyone at Coach who made it possible to create the lovely handbags we made! I also want to say thank you to Saga Furs and Dennis Basso who helped me through every step of constructing my Fur Garments for my thesis! They were both amazing experiences and I only hope to continue our relationships in the future :) TO INFINITY AND BEYOND, a few words of wisdom from a certain 2 year old

Along the way… When designing I like to push and manipulate each piece to ultimately achieve the most beautiful garment I can with the fabric that I’m using. While in the process I snapped some pictures of my work. The following are photos of my progress along the way, some fittings, myself knitting and weaving, periodical showings during class, and a couple shots from my photoshoot. A small glimpse into my world!

A long time inspiration of mine is the Photographer/Fine Artist Peter Beard. Born in 1938 and heir to more than one fortune, Beard spent his life refining his skills as an artist as well as studying medicine and acting as an animal rights activist. He was a world traveler and lived a life of mystery and adventure. After reading one of Karen Blixen’s Novels entitled “Out of Africa”, Beard moved to Kenya where some of his most inspiring work was documented. My senior thesis collection is based on the journals and collages that Beard composed while living in Kenya. Here are a few photos of the works that are closest to my heart…
